Our client is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accounts Assistant to join the finance team on a part‑time, permanent basis. This opportunity suits an organised accounting professional who needs a flexible role within a busy and supportive environment.
Location: Office‑based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom
Hours: 09:00‑12:30, Monday to Friday (flexible start time considered)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £28,000 – £29,250 annum + pro‑rata + benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank reconciliations
- Intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
- Sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
- Credit card and petty cash reconciliations
- Posting non‑sales and non‑purchase ledger bank transactions
- Assisting with year‑end accounts preparation
- Producing job costing and management reports
- General accounting administration and ad‑hoc finance duties
Purchase Ledger Responsibilities:
- Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
- Preparing and processing payments
- Posting payments to the accounting system
- Setting up supplier accounts and costing codes
Sales Ledger Responsibilities:
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes
- Posting customer receipts
- Processing card payments
- Maintaining customer account records
About You:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with bank and ledger reconciliations
- Confident working with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Sage 50 experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided
