Overview
We're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our growing Site Services team in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career in a busy laboratory environment, working with construction materials and supporting projects that make a real impact.
Responsibilities
As a Laboratory Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out laboratory testing in accordance with British and European Standards while maintaining the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and customer service.
- Preparing and testing soil, bituminous, and cementitious construction materials.
- Scheduling and organising laboratory samples for testing.
- calibrating laboratory equipment and carrying out routine maintenance.
- Recording, preparing, and presenting accurate test data.
- Cross-checking calculations and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Assisting with the training of colleagues on laboratory test methods.
- Conducting daily equipment and moisture content checks.
- Preparing calibration samples and SRD sand for site technicians.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
- Supporting the wider team with additional duties as required.

Essential skills and experience
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A positive, flexible approach to work.
- Ability to follow procedures and work within quality systems.
- Experience working in physically demanding environments.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
Desirable
- Manual Handling training.
- Experience in geotechnical or construction materials testing (training will be provided if required).
