The Role
Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will take ownership of your workload and be confident working independently on a wide range of customer vehicles and trailers. Previous diagnostic and fault-finding experience would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to HGVs, light vehicles and trailers
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
- MOT preparation work
- Attending roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles when required
- Liaising with the parts department to source required components
- Completing job cards and service documentation accurately and on time
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safe working practices
- Following all customer site procedures and health & safety regulations
- Keeping up to date with product knowledge and attending training courses
The Ideal Candidate
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualified Technician or equivalent industry experience
- Recent experience within the motor trade in a similar role (within the last 2 years)
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- HGV Licence beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Own tools are essential
