The Role

As a Facilities & Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical site services and infrastructure. Working as part of a well-established engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting and improving a wide range of plant services including electrical distribution, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, extraction equipment, water and gas distribution networks, fire protection systems, and other essential site infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a balance of practical problem-solving, reliability improvement, maintenance planning, and project involvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across site operations
  • Ensure critical facilities and infrastructure operate safely and efficiently
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and uptime
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigate equipment failures
  • Support capital investment projects and engineering improvements
  • Coordinate engineering resources to meet operational requirements
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and external service providers

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within facilities engineering, utilities engineering, maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or a similar role within manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles
  • HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or Engineering-related discipline
  • Experience working with site services such as HVAC, compressed air systems, electrical infrastructure, utilities, or process support equipment
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, asset reliability, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience using CMMS systems (SAP experience advantageous)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Knowledge of boilers, fire protection systems, industrial utilities, or site infrastructure would be advantageous
