Job Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Salary: £47,000 per annum (OTE £55,000-£60,000+)
Location: Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
Hours: Rotating Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Monday to Friday, 06:00am - 2:30pm
- Weeks 2 & 3: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 8:00pm
- 1 in 3 Saturdays: 06:00am - 2:00pm ( rate)

The Company:
Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance and fleet services provider to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join their growing workshop team in Scunthorpe.
Supporting a large and diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, our client is recognised for delivering high-quality maintenance, repair and breakdown services across the region. The Role:
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults efficiently.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, defect reporting and preventative maintenance activities.
- Strip, inspect and rebuild vehicle components including engines, gearboxes, axles, suspensions and braking systems.
- Perform testing and fault-finding to ensure vehicles meet DVSA and company compliance standards.
- Complete repair and maintenance work to manufacturer specifications.
- Attend breakdowns and provide roadside assistance as part of a rota system.
- Undertake mobile maintenance and repair work at customer sites on a rota basis.
- Accurately complete job cards, service sheets and maintenance documentation.
The Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or PSV Technician (essential).
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent (essential).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills on commercial vehicles.
- Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGV fleets.
- Ability to strip and rebuild major vehicle components.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- HGV Licence (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional workshop team.
- Flexible and proactive attitude towards breakdown, call-out and mobile repair work.
