The Role:
- Take ownership of the site's control and automation systems, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently.
- Develop and deliver preventive, predictive and scheduled electrical maintenance programmes.
- Support planned shutdowns, system upgrades and long-term improvement projects.
- Lead the development, integration and maintenance of PLC, SCADA and OT-based systems.
- Execute proactive and reactive maintenance across automated machinery and electrical infrastructure.
- Diagnose and rectify faults within electrical circuits, control panels, and PLC-driven equipment.
- Manage industrial communication networks including Profinet and Modbus, ensuring robust performance and cybersecurity.
- Support automation and digitisation initiatives by contributing to design, testing, integration and commissioning activities.
- Work in accordance with all company safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and engineering standards.
The Requirements:
- Proven experience in controls, automation or electrical engineering within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong programming capability with Siemens or Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
- Hands-on experience developing or modifying SCADA systems (WinCC desirable).
- Understanding of industrial network architecture and communication protocols.
- Awareness of industrial cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience supporting installation, commissioning or upgrade projects.
- HV competency or Authorised Person training – beneficial but not essential.
- Minimum 2 years working within a fast-moving production or engineering environment.
