Job Description HGV Technician \n Location: Widness Salary: £45,760-£54,000 + Overtime Available Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shifts: 4 on 4 off, days or nights \n Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Technician to join their expanding workshop team in Widness. Working from a modern, purpose-built facility in partnership with a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, you will play a key role in maintaining a varied fleet of HGVs, vans and trailers, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and operational. \n This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled commercial vehicle technician looking to join a professional workshop environment with excellent facilities, strong earning potential and genuine long-term career prospects. Key Responsibilities \n \n Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, vans and trailers. \n Conduct vehicle inspections, identify defects and complete required repairs. \n Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment. \n Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and present for testing when required. \n Record inspections, repairs and parts usage accurately using digital job systems. \n Communicate repair requirements and progress updates to workshop management. \n Ensure all vehicles are thoroughly checked before returning to service. \n Requirements \n \n NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. \n Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician. \n Experience carrying out vehicle inspections and MOT preparation. \n Experience working on Mercedes-Benz trucks would be advantageous but is not essential. \n Comfortable using workshop management and online job recording systems. \n Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy workshop team. \n Commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship, quality and safety. \n HGV Class 1 licence would be advantageous but is not essential. \n Package & Benefits \n \n £1,500 signing-on bonus* \n Competitive salary \n £27 per hour overtime rate \n 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays \n Additional birthday leave \n Company salary sacrifice pension scheme \n On-site parking \n Employee wellness programme \n Retail discount platform \n 10% discount at B&Q and TradePoint \n £50 MOT bonus payable for achieving workshop pass rate targets \n \n If you are an experienced HGV Technician looking for your next challenge within a modern workshop environment offering excellent facilities and benefits, please apply today. \
