Role Overview
We are seeking a committed and safety-focused Foundry Caster to join the copper alloy Foundry team. Working alongside experienced casters, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of continuous horizontal casting lines. A strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental compliance is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing heats according to various copper alloy groups
- Operating furnaces, including melting, skimming, and testing metal
- Performing basic mathematical calculations for alloy alterations
- Maintaining furnaces and casting areas (pecking, sweeping, cleaning)
- Inspecting cast strip and unloading cast coils
- Using basic computer skills to book coils into the system
- Completing casting reports, FLT checkbooks, and reporting issues to the Foundry office
