Are you a reliable Class 2 Driver looking for a varied role with a great work-life balance? We're recruiting on behalf of a busy and well-established waste management company for a Class 2 Driver / Yard Operative to join their team in Paddock Wood. This hybrid position offers the perfect mix of driving (40%) and yard-based duties (60%), providing a varied and active working day. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
- Pay: £19.50 per hour
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Contract: Temporary to Permanent
- Location: Paddock Wood
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle for collections and site movements.
- Load and unload waste materials.
- Break down and process waste items within the yard.
- Assist with general waste management operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Work closely with the transport and yard teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Minimum 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- No more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties.
- Reliable, punctual, and happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A good understanding of health and safety procedures.
