We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Pre-Construction Estimator to join a well-established and growing Building Services company based in Petham, Canterbury, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team working on a variety of exciting projects, with genuine opportunities for long-term career development.

Location: Petham, Canterbury, Kent

Salary: £45,000 - £53,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 17:30, Friday: 07:30 - 16:30

About the Role

As an Electrical Pre-Construction Estimator, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of competitive and accurate tender submissions. Working closely with the estimating team, supply chain and senior management, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and supporting the business in securing new projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing tender documentation and raising RFIs where required
  • Preparing enquiries for equipment and specialist subcontract packages
  • Producing accurate estimates using computer-aided estimating software (Ensign)
  • Quantifying materials, labour and plant requirements
  • Attending and contributing to pre-tender, mid-tender and post-tender meetings
  • Reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance and best value
  • Liaising with estimators and specialist subcontractors to produce fully inclusive bids
  • Preparing tender review packs for presentation to senior management
  • Following up submitted tenders and assisting in securing new projects
  • Working collaboratively to continually improve estimating processes
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners
  • Attending project handover meetings with the contracts team following successful bids

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Building Services industry
  • A detailed understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems
  • Experience using estimating software such as Ensign (desirable)
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tenders and prioritise workload effectively
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Essential Requirements

  • Previous Building Services estimating experience
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport
  • Must live within approximately 45 miles of Petham, Canterbury
  • Right to work in the UK
