It would suit an experienced practice professional who is confident managing their own clients and is ready to take greater responsibility for a small team. You'll have ownership of a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines and service standards are achieved while acting as a trusted point of contact for your clients.

  • Attend meetings with prospective clients and prepare quotations for services.
  • Review statutory accounts and Corporation Tax computations.
  • Oversee the timely preparation and submission of accounts and VAT returns.
  • Allocate incoming work across the accounting team and manage workloads.
  • Supervise, support and train junior team members.
  • Provide guidance across bookkeeping, VAT and accounts production.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure client work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor internal service levels and report on performance.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services and support to existing clients.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong accounts preparation and review experience.
  • A good working knowledge of UK taxation, VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Previous experience managing your own portfolio of clients.
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients and providing a high level of service.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior members of staff.
  • The ability to manage workloads and competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach.

You may be AAT, ACCA or ACA qualified or part-qualified, although strong relevant practice experience will be particularly important.

What's on Offer?

  • £32,500 basic salary + commission.
  • OTE up to £45,000.
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Option to buy and sell annual leave.
  • Study support and continued professional development.
  • Company pension.
  • Genuine opportunities for further career progression.

Who Could This Suit?

This could be an excellent progression opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant, Client Manager, Accounts Senior, Portfolio Manager or Practice Accountant who is ready to take greater ownership of clients and people.
