General Labourer / Trainee Fabrication Operative Location: Cottenham, Cambridge Pay Rate: From £12.71 per hour Job Type: Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm Working Week: 40 hours About the Role Interaction Recruitment is currently recruiting for a General Labourer / Trainee Fabrication Operative to join an established manufacturing company based in Cottenham, Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hardworking, reliable and keen to learn new skills within a busy engineering and fabrication workshop. No previous fabrication, welding or engineering experience is required, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, good practical ability and a willingness to get stuck in and help across different areas of the workshop. The successful candidate will initially assist with general labouring, workshop duties and production tasks, with the opportunity to receive hands-on training in CNC punching, sheet metal folding, welding and other fabrication processes. Key Responsibilities Carrying out general labouring duties within the fabrication workshop. Assisting skilled fabricators and machine operators. Moving, handling and preparing metal materials and components. Loading and unloading machinery. Assisting with general production and assembly work. Grinding, deburring and finishing metal components. Using basic hand tools and workshop equipment. Keeping work areas clean, tidy and organised. Checking components for quality. Supporting different departments within the workshop. Following health and safety procedures. Learning to operate fabrication machinery under supervision. Training
