Working closely with the Civils Project Controls Manager, you will support project delivery through accurate estimating, supply chain management, commercial administration, and client-facing activities. Key Responsibilities
- Visit client sites to understand project requirements, carry out surveys, and define scope
- Prepare work proposals in collaboration with civils management
- Produce accurate estimates and quotations in line with company procedures
- Present draft quotations for internal review and approval
- Manage the civils supply chain, securing competitive pricing for plant, materials, subcontractors, and consultants
- Lead commercial negotiations to secure discounts and rebates
- Maintain and update supplier databases/CRM systems
- Support procurement activities, including raising purchase orders
- Prepare project-related HSE documentation
- Liaise with Accounts to resolve supplier invoice queries
- Reconcile deliveries against invoices where required
- Ensure timely invoicing for completed works and manage interim invoicing
- Monitor and support project cash flow, ensuring prompt payment and accurate billing
Skills, Qualifications & Training
Essential
- Degree or HNC in Civils, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, CRM systems, etc.)
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
- RICS accreditation or working towards it
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience in quantity surveying or estimating within construction
Desirable
- Experience in civils, utilities, or infrastructure environments
