We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Sales Executive to join our established team at our office in YO60, North Yorkshire. You will be responsible for developing new business, building lasting relationships with clients and managing existing accounts across the UK, Europe and selected international markets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that values its people, rewards success and offers genuine long-term earning potential.

The Role

This is a predominantly office-based, telephone-led sales position, with approximately 80–90% of your time spent in the office developing and managing your customer base. Selling into the manufacturing sector, you will work with customers across the UK, Europe and other international markets. You will manage the full sales cycle, from identifying new opportunities and making that first call through to negotiating, securing business and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Business development: Proactively identifying and winning new customers through cold calling, telephone prospecting, LinkedIn outreach and other sales activities.
  • Account management: Building strong relationships with existing customers, retaining their business and identifying opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Full 360° sales: Managing the sales process from initial contact and qualification through to negotiation, closing deals and ongoing account development.
  • International sales: Developing business across the UK, EU and selected international markets, communicating with customers across different countries and time zones.
  • Client relationship management: Understanding customer requirements, providing tailored solutions and delivering a high level of service to encourage repeat business.
  • Supplier negotiation and purchasing: Working closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, source suitable products and purchase products that meet your customers' needs.
  • Exhibitions and networking: Attending approximately two to three exhibitions per year across Europe to develop relationships, generate leads and identify new opportunities.
  • Client visits: Travelling within the UK and internationally to meet customers, strengthen relationships and develop key accounts.

What We're Looking For

We want someone who enjoys the challenge of winning new business but also understands the importance of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships. Ideally, you will have:

  • A proven track record in B2B sales, business development or telephone-based sales.
  • Experience with cold calling, outbound prospecting and generating new business opportunities.
  • Strong account management and client retention skills.
  • Confidence negotiating with customers and suppliers.
  • A commercially minded approach, with the ability to identify opportunities and maximise revenue.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive, resilient and target-driven attitude.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team.
  • A genuine desire to build a long-term career with one business.
  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel within the UK, Europe and internationally when required.
  • Experience in 360° sales, telesales, account management or business development would be particularly beneficial.
  • Experience selling into the manufacturing sector would also be advantageous.

Salary, Commission and Earning Potential

Basic salary: £29,000–£34,000 per annum, with an OTE of £40,000 in your first year. We offer an attractive commission structure designed to reward performance, alongside an annual Christmas bonus that is typically worth thousands of pounds, subject to the applicable scheme and business performance. The earning potential doesn't stop at your first-year OTE. We have established salespeople within the business earning in excess of £100,000 per annum.
