I am looking for a hands-on and experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to work for a busy Distribution company based in Leeds on the Day Shift. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you will assist in running the day shift Warehouse functions, ensuring work is completed on time and to a high standard.
Day to day duties within the role will include:
- Training of Team Leaders to ensure high standards throughout
- Staff appraisals and disciplinaries
- Staff briefs and debriefs
- Management of site, security, and paperwork for deliveries particularly on weekends
- Management of equipment issue
- Ensuring stocks of warehouse PPE are ordered
- Ensuring pick completing and all other paperwork for deliveries is complete
- Ensuring all other paperwork is completed and handed in
- Quality checks of stock and raising any issues
- Racking checks
- Issuing picks and other work
- Inductions of new staff
- Booking on of containers
- Staff management, ensuring numbers are sufficient to meet daily and weekly targets
Key skills needed for this role include:
- Previous Shift Management or Supervisory experience is essential
- Must be hands-on and happy to assist around the Warehouse where needed
- Strong man-management skills
- Ability to implement changes and improvements
- C/B and/or Flexi FLT Licenses would be beneficial
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate staff
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Computer Literate, particularly Microsoft Office
- Health and Safety awareness
The role is based on the day shift, working 6am to 6pm, 4 shifts per week. Week 1 you will work Sun, Mon, Wed and Thurs and Week 2 is Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat. These weeks will then rotate throughout the year. The role is advertised as Permanent, with a starting Salary for the role at £34k pa. Having a flexible attitude towards your work, including shift working times to suit my client's needs are a must.
