Interaction Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Technologist to join their Safety Product Testing team based in Kettering. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established technical organisation working with a diverse range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), supporting manufacturers from around the world by ensuring products meet recognised UK and international safety standards.

The Role

As a Technologist, you'll play a key role in testing a wide variety of PPE products, helping to ensure they meet stringent performance and safety requirements. Full training will be provided where required, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a technical career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine physical testing in line with UK, European and International standards
  • Operating specialist laboratory equipment to generate accurate test results
  • Recording and maintaining test data in both electronic and hard copy formats
  • Producing clear, accurate technical reports
  • Liaising with customers by email, telephone and in person
  • Responding to technical enquiries and advising customers on appropriate testing requirements
  • Updating enquiries and job progress using Dynamics software
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory
  • Representing the business at customer visits, webinars, exhibitions and technical events where required

About You

  • Laboratory or testing experience
  • Knowledge of recognised testing standards
  • Experience within PPE manufacturing, including products such as high-visibility clothing, flame-resistant garments, chemical protective clothing or motorcycle apparel
  • Experience using database systems (Dynamics would be advantageous)
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Physics qualification or background
  • Foreign language skills
  • Willingness or experience travelling for business
