12 hour rotating days / nights on a 4 on / 4 off rotation Salary:
Β£35,000 - Β£40,000 DOE I am looking for an experienced Flexographic Printer to join my client in Corby. This role is pivotal to the business and you would be working in factory environment supporting the Print Manager in all aspects of the Print Departments day-to-day running including managing personnel and working with the Production Managers and Directors to improve efficiencies, reducing costs, improving product quality, and Health and Safety . 3. Main Responsibilities Set and operate the print machinery and achieve output targets ensuring production is per the works order requirements. Understand technical requirements specific to print quality and artwork guidance, with particular attention to eye marks and guidelines. Understand and alter colours as required with the support of the Ink technicians ensuring high quality complex visuals. Load substrates and inks, adjusting the press setting for tension, speed, colour registration etc. Inspect printed output for colour accuracy, print clarity and overall quality, adjusting as necessary.
Ensure quality control is maintained and carry out technical inspections and tests to check for defects and use experience and technical knowledge of the processes to problem solve throughout the shift. Verify, control and adjust machine settings as required within the guidelines and tolerances of the works order and production plan. Measure, weigh and grade the technical specifications of products to meet customer requirements as per the works order. To run the shift by planning the work and organising the team to maximise efficiency and productivity according to the production plan, always with a mind on safety. Ensure production is maximised and cost effective, by reducing scrap and down time through effective planning ahead, this includes cutting cores, arranging all raw materials for current and following shift. Check shift targets are being met. Ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to. Ensure operators are completing their work to their best ability and support where necessary; with ability to step in as required-this includes following the housekeeping schedule. To be proactive in organising own workload and having a self-motivated attitude towards departmental workload. Support management in the supervision and management of the team and wider factory. To assist Management in investigating CAR and health & safety concerns
Work with attention to detail producing work that is accurate. Label, wrap and strap pallets ensuring labelling is clear as per the specified sheet. Keep scrap to a minimum and make every effort to avoid unnecessary scrap.
