We are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established territory across the South East, with a strong focus on new business development, sales growth and customer relationship management. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who knows the forklift and materials handling market and is confident generating new business and closing sales.

The Role

  • Growing sales across your territory, developing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Generating new business through proactive prospecting and customer visits.
  • Managing and developing an existing customer portfolio.
  • Identifying upselling and account development opportunities.
  • Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial terms.
  • Conducting customer presentations and equipment demonstrations.
  • Building strong relationships from operational level through to senior management.
  • Identifying new markets and sales opportunities.
  • Managing your territory, diary and customer visits effectively.
  • Recording and managing sales activity through CRM.
  • Converting opportunities into successful sales.

  • Minimum 5 years' sales experience within the Materials Handling / Forklift industry.
  • A proven track record in new business development.
  • Strong account management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
  • A consultative, solution-led approach to sales.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Good IT and CRM experience.
  • Strong organisation and territory management skills.
  • A self-motivated, driven and results-focused approach.
