Interaction Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Hire Desk Manager to join a well-established and growing business within the materials handling and hire sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in forklifts, plant hire, or materials handling equipment who enjoys leading a team, building customer relationships, and running a fast-paced hire operation.
The Role
- As Hire Desk Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the hire department, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for customers across the UK.
- You'll work closely with the Hire Desk, Service, and Sales teams while leading and supporting your own team to deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing daily hire operations from enquiry through to invoicing
- Leading and supporting the Hire Desk team
- Coordinating transport, scheduling, quotations, and customer communication
- Building strong customer and supplier relationships
- Identifying cross-hire opportunities and improving operational efficiency
- Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally
- Ensuring CRM/ERP systems are kept accurate and up to date
- Supporting and developing team members to achieve KPIs and business goals
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within forklift, plant hire, or materials handling
- Proven team management or supervisory experience
- Strong organisational and customer service skills
- Confident communicator with a proactive attitude
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and CRM/ERP systems
- Ability to thrive in a busy operational environment
