We are recruiting a Furniture Flammability Technician on behalf of our client to join their specialist Furniture Flammability department on a full-time basis. The department is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for furniture testing, training, consultancy and innovation, working with suppliers, manufacturers and retailers worldwide. Testing is carried out against British, European and international standards, as well as major retailer specifications, to ensure furniture products are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

The Role
- Preparation and conditioning of test samples
- Conducting furniture flammability testing to British, European and international standards
- Planning and agreeing testing schedules
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of laboratory areas
About You
Essential requirements:
- GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C / Grade 5 or above
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrable organisation, planning and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, proactive and positive “can-do” attitude
Desirable experience:
- Experience working within the furniture industry
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment
- Experience testing consumer products
- Full, clean UK driving licence
