Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant Manager to join a busy warehouse and logistics operation based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated warehouse professional with supervisory or team leader experience to take on a hands-on management role. You will support the day-to-day running of warehouse operations, helping to ensure efficient workflow, accurate order fulfilment, strong stock control and a safe working environment.

The successful candidate will manage a small team of up to 3 staff on a day-to-day basis, while also providing wider cover and support for a warehouse team of up to 16 staff during the Warehouse Manager's absence. As Warehouse Assistant Manager, you will support the Warehouse Manager in coordinating daily activity across goods in, picking, packing, dispatch and wider warehouse operations. You will be responsible for leading staff, allocating workloads, monitoring performance, supporting training and ensuring warehouse processes are completed accurately, safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support and motivate warehouse staff on a daily basis
  • Manage a team of up to 3 staff day to day
  • Provide cover and support for the wider warehouse team of up to 16 staff during the Warehouse Manager's absence
  • Allocate workloads and ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently
  • Oversee goods in, picking, packing, dispatch and stock movement
  • Ensure orders are picked, packed and prepared accurately
  • Support stock control, inventory checks and stock accuracy
  • Identify and report stock discrepancies or operational issues
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and productivity
  • Support team training, coaching and performance feedback
  • Promote and enforce health & safety procedures across the warehouse
  • Ensure equipment faults or maintenance issues are reported promptly
  • Liaise with management, warehouse teams and other departments to ensure smooth communication
  • Support continuous improvements across warehouse processes

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse supervisory, team leader or assistant manager experience and be confident working in a busy, hands-on warehouse environment. You will be organised, proactive and able to lead by example. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage workloads effectively are essential.
