We are looking for someone who can work confidently and independently, producing quality components from engineering drawings while maintaining high standards throughout the machining process. As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machinery, programming and making programme adjustments, and ensuring components are produced accurately and efficiently. Setting CNC turning machinesOperating CNC lathes safely and efficientlyProgramming CNC machinesEditing and adjusting existing programmes where requiredWorking with Haas controlsSelecting and setting appropriate toolingSetting tool offsets and making adjustments during productionReading and interpreting engineering drawingsWorking to specified dimensions and tolerancesCarrying out first-off and in-process inspectionMeasuring finished components using appropriate inspection equipmentIdentifying and resolving machining issuesMaking adjustments to tooling, offsets, speeds and feeds where necessaryMaintaining consistent quality throughout productionWorking to production schedules and deadlinesKeeping the work area clean, safe and organisedThe Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner who has a strong practical understanding of machining and is comfortable taking a component from drawing through to finished part .The successful candidate will ideally have experience across setting, operating and programming , rather than being purely an operator. You should be able to work from engineering drawings, understand tolerances and machining requirements, and have a good understanding of tooling and cutting conditions. The ability to work independently is important, as is having a methodical approach to producing accurate, high-quality components.
