Interaction Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Financial Controller to work from their offices in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. This is an exciting time to join a business that is undergoing a period of growth and development, whilst offering stability and potential for career development for the right person.

Our client is a leading company in the manufacturing sector, committed to excellence and innovation. They are looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their dynamic team in Cambridge. This role is crucial in ensuring their financial integrity and supporting their growth.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, key responsibilities include:

  • Management of the day-to-day operations of the Finance Team.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including stock management and valuations.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and ensure timely group reporting.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
  • Keep the Fixed Assets Register and related documentation up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory accounting, taxation, and legal requirements.
  • Assist in preparing forecasts and budgets.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Improve departmental effectiveness through objective setting and performance reviews.
  • Ensure all government returns are filed accurately and on time.
  • Manage UK employee payroll and related returns.
  • Perform Treasury functions, including cash management and FX hedging.
  • Lead and participate in ad hoc projects as required.

Applications are invited from individuals with the following skills and experience:

  • Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA), a strong Qualified by experience would also be considered.
  • Extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting in a similar level role is essential.
  • Experience in manufacturing and standard costing would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience working in or with a European finance office would be desirable but not essential.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong team ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Advanced PC software skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and extensive ERP systems knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus but not essential.

In return, the client is able to offer the following benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Bonus package up to 10% of salary (based on individual and company performance).
  • Pension (up to 8%).
  • 25 days annual leave (plus all statutory bank holidays).

Initially for this role, the successful candidate will be required to be on site for the first three months; however, hybrid working will be available after this time, so suitable candidates must be able to commute to Cambridge.
