Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter / Panel Wirer to join their expanding engineering team based in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the build and assembly of bespoke machinery and automated systems within a modern manufacturing environment. We're looking for someone with a strong background in electrical fitting and control panel wiring, who is confident working with PLC systems and interpreting electrical schematics to deliver high-quality builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, wire, and assemble electrical control panels to a high standard.
- Install and wire electrical components on bespoke machinery and automation equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Carry out panel wiring, machine wiring, and electrical assembly work.
- Assist with PLC wiring, fault finding, and support during machine testing and commissioning.
- Perform electrical inspections and testing where required.
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical standards and health & safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical fitters and the wider engineering team to deliver projects on time and to specification.
About You
- Previous experience as an Electrical Fitter, Panel Wirer, Control Panel Builder, or Electrical Technician.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and associated wiring.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong electrical assembly, panel wiring, and machine wiring experience.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) is desirable.
