We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Quantity Surveyor to join one of our clients' growing teams and play a key role in the commercial management of residential construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with residential experience to work across a range of new-build and refurbishment projects, from pre-construction through to final account.
The Role
- Managing project costs from pre-construction through to completion.
- Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Preparing tender and procurement documentation.
- Obtaining, analysing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and payments.
- Monitoring project expenditure and reporting on cost performance.
- Managing variations, valuations and final accounts.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing appropriate cost-control measures.
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Providing accurate commercial reports and cost advice to senior management.
- Ensuring contractual and commercial procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
- Proven experience working within the residential construction sector.
- Experience managing projects from tender/pre-construction through to final account.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and commercial management.
- Excellent understanding of cost control, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with relevant commercial and Microsoft Office software.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is desirable.
