A Head of Engineering with a genuine passion for technology, leading teams of teams, as well as playing a key part in the delivery of cutting-edge products required ASAP. Remote working (UK) with once a quarter in person team collaboration days.
As part of a health tech success story, my client is searching for opportunities to perfect their processes and implement methodologies that help their teams to thrive locally and globally. Tech stack here is Java, Node, React, Azure, Microservices, Ci/CD, Scrum etc.
Responsibilities- As Head of Software Engineering and reporting directly into the CTO, your job is to ensure the multidisciplinary software engineering teams have everything they need to deliver a fantastic product to customers and clients, and that everyone understands the product roadmap and business objectives.
- Aligning architecture and technology roadmaps and ensuring we are building the right features and capabilities at the right time.
- Managing managers (tech leads and Engineering managers) and therefore management of teams of teams is key.
- Experience of working in a high growth fast paced scale up environment.
- Past experience in a hands-on engineering role and prides themselves on still being technical.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working with all levels of business.
- A background of leading teams of Engineers writing business critical/complex solutions in polyglot/opensource languages (Java, Golang, Python etc).
- Manage teams capacity, estimation to ensure the team is able to provide an appropriate view of work and suggest potential completion dates.
- Experience of managing managers (tech leads and Engineering managers) and therefore management of teams of teams is key.
- Experience of working in a high growth fast paced scale up environment.
- Past experience in a hands-on engineering role and prides themselves on still being technical.
