ABOUT THE ROLE
At IKEA, we are seeking a commercially minded legal professional who is committed to helping businesses grow responsibly while supporting people and the planet.
As our In-house Legal Counsel, you will play an important role in supporting and safeguarding the legal aspects of the Ingka business across the UK and Ireland. Partnering closely with business leaders and colleagues across functions, you will offer practical, solutions-oriented legal guidance that supports sound business decisions while limiting risk and opening new opportunities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- University degree in Law
- Qualified Solicitor, NQ to 2 years PQE, gained either in private practice or an in-house environment
- Experience advising on commercial contracts and commercial disputes and litigation
- Effective stakeholder engagement and clear communication skills
- A pragmatic, business-focused approach to problem-solving
- Previous in-house legal experience and experience advising clients in the retail, FMCG, consumer goods or distribution sectors
- Knowledge or experience of Data Protection legislation
- Experience in a busy commercial environment
WHAT YOU WILL DO DAY TO DAY
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders across the business to identify practical and sustainable solutions.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documentation.
- Delivering legal support to managers and business teams, safeguarding IKEA’s rights, meeting obligations, reducing legal risk, and expanding business opportunities.
- Collaborating closely with Group Legal & Governance to ensure alignment with country and global priorities.
- Supporting the delivery of the Business Plan, strategic projects and key business initiatives.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of legal processes, standards and ways of working that support a compliant and efficient business.
- Sharing legal knowledge and developing capability through guidance, coaching and training for relevant stakeholders.
- Staying informed about relevant legal and regulatory developments that may impact on the business.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Starting Salary from £70, per annum.
- Full-Time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Location: Service Office Principles - Working: 12 days’ workplace presence, of which 8 must be in the Service Office, with the remaining 4 in the individual’s nearest unit.
