As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for an Applications Team Leader (Skin Care) to join our Personal Care team to lead a team of scientists to deliver new skin care product developments to the business. You will be required to be technical lead on projects, provide managerial support to the team, proactively seek out projects with external organisations, scope projects’ technical feasibility and propose future projects.

What we’re looking for:

  • With a degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science subject, you will have demonstrable experience of using technical knowledge and understanding to solve complex scientific problems.
  • The ability to manage and progress multiple technical projects successfully.
  • A background in experimental lab work with experience in method development and data analysis in a related area.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of scientists.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to build good working relationships within the local and global teams.
  • A background in cosmetic science or knowledge of the skin care industry would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable understanding of developing new ingredients for the consumer care sector would be highly beneficial.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.
  • Working within the Skin Care team, plan, organise, and perform scientific research projects in particular area.
  • Review the results and seek answers to problems encountered through collection of data and investigation. Decide how to proceed with next experiment/stage of project.
  • Allocate project to self and other members of the team.
  • Capable to lead multiple projects in collaboration with business objectives, managing timelines, ensuring project meet key stakeholder expectations.
  • Prepares scientific reports or datasheets detailing the organization’s products and their applications.
  • Provide technical support to sales and marketing across the EMEA region, including representation at customers and various industry technical events.
  • Support and develop sample testing capabilities in Skin Care for product validation and claim substantiation.
  • Provide applications support to develop commercially viable speciality formulation ingredients that successfully meet customer market demands for performance, economics and regulatory compliance.
