The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday | 12.5 hours per week
Experience: School Cleaning – 1 year preferred
Due to remote location, a drivers licence is preferred. Must have enhanced DBS (or have the required documentation so we can apply for the enhanced DBS).
Purpose of the role
To maintain school premises to the required standard of cleanliness; required to clean all rooms, toilets, cloakrooms, staircases, corridors, halls, laboratories and all other areas in use as per Client Specification.
Functions / Responsibilities
- To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the premises daily and to the required standard as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Each cleaner will be responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standards set out in the specification.
- To ensure standards and procedures are adhered to.
- To use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically; to inform Supervisor/Account Manager when stocks are low.
- To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to Supervisor/Account Manager.
- Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated area, including the separation of waste, i.e. recycling.
- To clean internal glass and internal and external door glass.
- To ensure that cleaners’ storage lockers and cupboards are kept clean and tidy.
- To undertake any non-routine cleaning tasks as instructed by Cleaning Supervisor or authorised deputy.
- All cleaners are required to contribute to major cleaning tasks during the school summer holiday period.
- Where practicable ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off.
- Report to Supervisor/Account Manager any defects seen which are likely to affect security i.e. broken/cracked window etc.
- Cleaners will be required to use electrical and mechanical equipment, floor polishers etc. after appropriate training.
- The cleaner is required to use only approved cleaning materials and in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH regulations. Chemicals should never be mixed with other chemicals.
- To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others.
