PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To research and develop qualified sales leads, book new business appointments, and attend appointments made by supporting business development executives and support marketing resources. Develop bespoke sales proposals and tender responses to achieve company sales targets and improve profitability for key target markets and relevant services. We are also looking to recruit an apprentice to support and grow within this role.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales
- To identify the top priority qualified leads and book appointments to develop new sales, targeting £750k in new sales per annum.
- To develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
- To identify, engage and interact with key decision makers to identify new and emerging business opportunities.
- To produce & develop bid proposals and quotations.
- To build effective relationships with potential and existing clients, by understanding their business, questioning and clarification.
- To effectively network either in person or via social media channels e.g. LinkedIn.
- To speak positively and enthusiastically about the company and its products and services to ensure that a professional company and brand image is always provided to clients and colleagues.
- To maintain and update records in our CRM (Salesforce & Outreach) system accurately and in accordance with the data protection requirements.
- To identify renewal opportunities and gather customer information to ensure efficiency of renewal process.
- To provide line management information as required.
- To maintain a database of leads and proposals ensuring accuracy.
- To work together as a team and with Operations, other departments, and divisions within the organisation to identify any process improvements and improve standards, efficiency, and profitability.
- To provide sales support and or assistance to other team members on product, service solutions.
- To work as part of a team to achieve the departmental targets.
- To present a supportive, positive, and enthusiastic attitude towards the job, the company, and your colleagues at all times.
- To ensure that a good level of understanding and knowledge of the organisations products and services, which is improved and always maintained, ensuring that customer queries can be dealt with accurately and appropriately and supported by the department.
- To take responsibility for own personal development in line with agreed annual performance objectives.
- Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require. These duties may change and develop over time.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
- At least 3 years working within a Sales environment preferably in a proactive field sales role within the facilities (or related) industry.
- Knowledge of CRM systems would be advantageous.
- Excellent telephone, communication skills.
- Computer literate/keyboard skills.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise issues.
- Able to follow set policies and procedures and implement as necessary.
- Good numeric skills.
- Ability to produce bespoke proposals and tender bids.
Requirements / Key Skills:
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Must hold a clean, full driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel.
- The role requires regular travel to client sites across the UK.
- Overnight stays.
- Ability to stay overnight at hotels when required.
- Flexibility.
- Comfortable with variable schedules to meet client needs, including early starts or late finishes where necessary.
