London (Liverpool Street) – Hybrid (3 days in office)

£60,000 – £70,000 + bonus + excellent benefits

If you’re an Automation or Controls Engineer who enjoys solving real operational problems — and you’re starting to think about what comes next — this could be a genuinely interesting move. This role isn’t tied to one factory. Instead, you’ll work across multiple businesses, helping them identify opportunities, design solutions, and trial new approaches to automation and digital manufacturing. It’s a chance to move into a more consultative role while staying technically hands-on.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working directly with manufacturing sites to identify automation opportunities
  • Supporting projects involving PLCs, MES, SCADA, IIoT and robotics
  • Designing and delivering pilot solutions
  • Helping teams implement and scale successful improvements
  • Working closely with engineers, operations teams and senior stakeholders

What they’re looking for:

  • Experience in manufacturing automation, controls or industrial systems
  • Exposure to PLCs, MES, SCADA, IIoT or similar technologies
  • Practical factory or production experience
  • A problem-solving mindset
  • Interest in moving into a more consultative role

Why this role appeals:

People in this team enjoy the variety — you won’t be repeating the same work in the same environment. You’ll gain exposure to different technologies, manufacturing environments and senior stakeholders, with clear opportunities to progress into more senior or architectural roles.

Package:

  • £60,000 – £70,000 salary
  • Bonus up to 15%
  • Share incentive plan
  • Pension up to 10.5%
  • Private medical cover
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
