We're representing a highly respected international technology organisation investing heavily in Microsoft Cloud, AI and enterprise infrastructure. This is a newly created role that will play a key part in shaping infrastructure architecture across a complex global technology estate.
Rather than inheriting an established architecture practice, you'll help build it.
You'll become the trusted Infrastructure Architecture authority, working alongside Enterprise, Cyber Security and Applications Architects to define standards, guide major transformation programmes and help shape the organisation's future Microsoft roadmap.

You'll also join at an exciting point in the organisation's journey, helping build long-term architectural capability while working alongside experienced technical peers across Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security and Digital Solutions.
What you'll be doing
You'll provide architectural leadership across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructure, helping define the standards, principles and roadmaps that will support future growth.
Your work will include:
- Defining enterprise infrastructure architecture, standards and best practice
- Shaping Azure Landing Zone strategy and cloud governance
- Driving Infrastructure as Code and automation-first approaches
- Developing FinOps capability, cloud cost optimisation and governance
- Supporting acquisitions, divestments and enterprise migration programmes
- Evaluating emerging Microsoft technologies, including AI, Copilot and future platform capabilities
- Building AI-ready infrastructure and helping shape responsible adoption across the organisation
- Working closely with infrastructure engineering teams while remaining hands-on enough to challenge designs and build proof of concepts where appropriate
- Acting as the technical authority for infrastructure architecture across multiple operating businesses
What we're looking for
This role will suit someone who has progressed from a strong infrastructure engineering background into architecture and still enjoys staying technically credible.
You'll ideally bring experience across:
- Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Hybrid Cloud Architecture
- Azure Landing Zones
- Infrastructure Governance
- Cloud Governance
- FinOps
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or ARM
- Entra ID and modern identity platforms
- Cloud migration and modernisation programmes
- Business continuity, resilience and disaster recovery
- Microsoft AI technologies and Copilot
- Architecture governance and design authority
Equally important is your approach.
You'll be someone who enjoys collaborating with engineers, influencing senior stakeholders and balancing strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery.
