We are hiring a Product Director / VP Product for a fast-growing, PE-backed B2B SaaS business providing a mission-critical platform used by airlines and airports globally.
This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Chief Product and Technical Officer, created to shape the future of the product portfolio as the business continues to scale.
The role is best suited to someone with clear ownership of customer-facing B2B SaaS products, strong technical understanding, commercial product leadership, and experience working closely with Engineering to bring complex products to market.
Experience in aviation technology, travel technology, messaging platforms, real-time communications, operational notifications, disruption management or passenger experience software would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.
This is not a Product Owner, programme delivery, digital transformation, UX/design, product marketing, implementation or consulting-led role. Candidates must show genuine senior product management leadership across strategy, discovery, roadmap, delivery and commercial outcomes.
The Product Director / VP Product will:
- Own the product strategy, vision and roadmap across the core platform and emerging product lines.
- Translate market, customer and industry insight into a clear product direction aligned to company strategy.
- Lead product discovery to validate which problems are worth solving before development begins.
- Use customer interviews, product analytics, personas, journey mapping, story mapping and prototyping to shape product decisions.
- Balance commercial priorities, technical constraints, operational risk and customer value when making roadmap choices.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle across discovery, definition, development, launch and iteration.
- Work closely with Engineering leadership to improve how product discovery connects with technical delivery.
- Partner with Engineering teams across APIs, cloud platforms, integrations, data flows, scalability and platform architecture.
- Identify where AI can create genuine customer value and build this into the product roadmap.
- Drive AI adoption across the product organisation to improve research, discovery, requirements drafting and decision-making.
- Build and nurture early-adopter customers willing to co-create, test and provide structured product feedback.
- Partner with Commercial teams on product positioning, pricing, go-to-market strategy and enterprise sales cycles.
- Equip Sales and Customer Success with product narratives, enablement assets, demos and release readiness.
- Track and improve product KPIs including adoption, retention, revenue performance, customer value and benefit realisation.
- Represent the business externally, including at industry events, with thought leadership across travel communications and passenger experience.
- Lead product integration strategy for acquired businesses, aligning new capabilities with the wider platform and product vision.
- Build, lead and mentor a high-performing product team across Product Management, Product Ownership and UX Design.
- Create a culture of ownership, curiosity, evidence-based decision-making and commercial accountability.
Candidates must have:
- Significant senior product management experience within B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
- Clear ownership of product strategy, roadmap and delivery for complex customer-facing software products.
- A sustained track record of senior product leadership within scaling software businesses.
- Experience launching, scaling and improving commercially successful B2B SaaS products.
- Strong technical understanding across APIs, cloud platforms, integrations, data flows and scalable product architecture.
- Experience working closely with Engineering teams to turn discovery, customer needs and commercial priorities into shipped product.
- Strong product discovery experience, including customer research, product analytics, personas, journey mapping, story mapping or prototyping.
- Commercial acumen, with experience contributing to revenue growth, pricing, positioning, packaging or go-to-market strategy.
- Experience using product KPIs to measure adoption, retention, customer value and commercial impact.
- Experience leading and developing product teams across Product Managers, Product Owners or UX Designers.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders across commercial, engineering, customer success and executive leadership teams.
- Comfort working in a scaling environment with significant ownership, ambiguity and pace.
Highly advantageous:
- Experience in aviation technology, airline software, airport technology, travel technology or travel infrastructure software.
- Experience with passenger communications, operational messaging, real-time notifications or disruption management.
- Experience releasing AI features into enterprise B2B products.
- Experience in PE-backed or investor-backed software businesses.
- Experience with M&A product integration.
The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior product leadership role with significant ownership, visibility and influence.
You will shape the product strategy for a growing B2B SaaS business, lead the evolution of a mission-critical global platform, and build commercially successful products used across the aviation and travel ecosystem.
