Do you know how to grow reach, build following, and turn content into campaigns that connect and convert B2B audiences?
We’re Intelligent Media — a small, well-established London-based publishing and B2B events business. For over 20 years, we\’ve supported school business professionals across the UK through our print magazine Education Executive, our website and newsletters, and most recently through our hugely popular EdExec LIVE events.
After a period of exciting growth, we’re scaling up fast — taking our events from 3 locations in 2024, to 8 in 2025 and 12+ locations in 2026, and we need a smart, proactive Social Media Growth Specialist to lead on organic platform growth, build community, and amplify our digital presence.
Who this role is perfect for
We’re looking for a digital media expert to significantly grow our reach and engagement across, most importantly, LinkedIn, as well as all Meta platforms — specifically targeting school business leaders (SBLs, SBMs and central MAT teams). This person will be charged with translating existing in-house content into measurable social growth, email marketing performance, and event registrations.
You might be a Social Media Assistant or Junior Exec ready to step up — or someone already managing social and email channels solo and looking to take true ownership. You’ll thrive in a B2B setting, juggling scheduling, strategy, analytics and delivery — all while working with a friendly, collaborative team.
This is a junior to mid-level role offering autonomy, variety, and rapid growth — you’ll learn fast and help shape both our social and email engagement strategy as the sole specialist on the team.
What you’ll be doing
- Advanced LinkedIn expertise: Lead our LinkedIn Channel strategy—optimising posting, engagement tactics, employee advocacy, and analytics to grow reach and connections.
- Organic platform growth: Amplify across LinkedIn, X, Meta, Instagram, and YouTube using polls, carousels, videos, hashtags and platform-tailored formats.
- Event content champion: Attend up to 12 SBL-focused events a year, join the events team on-site, capture live highlights, generate content during the day, and drive engagement both on the day and in post-event follow-up.
- Community engagement: Be the friendly voice of our brand—respond to DMs/comments, host polls/Q&As, and actively grow our followers.
- Email marketing strategy & execution: Design and build engaging email campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp; GetResponse, Brevo, manage sends, automated journeys, and audience workflows; monitor performance through open rates, CTRs, and engagement analytics to drive optimisation.
- Idea generation: Bring fresh ideas—campaigns, formats, series—rooted in audience insight, to increase engagement and brand presence.
- Analytics & insight: Set up UTMs, monitor performance via dashboards (Sprout, GA, platform analytics), A/B test content, and report monthly with actionable learnings.
- Social listening & trendspotting: Monitor sector topics—school funding, compliance, ICT, MATs—and integrate these into content planning.
- Basic paid support: Assist small-scale paid boosts when needed; main focus remains organic-led growth.
- Tool-based workflows: Use Canva, Photoshop or Indesign to adapt creatives, and manage workflow using Monday.com, Pipedrive, Mailchimp, ChatGPT/Copilot, etc.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years’ B2B social media experience, with strong LinkedIn expertise.
- Demonstrated success in organic growth—lifting impressions, followers, engagement, and supporting registrations.
- Analytical mindset—comfortable with UTMs, dashboards, basic ROI modelling, and experimentation.
- Excellent communicator, self-organised, and comfortable managing your own projects.
- Confident in Canva (or similar) to adapt creatives per channel.
- Quick technophile—adept at mastering tools like GetResponse, Monday.com, Pipedrive, and AI assistants.
- Bonus: experience or genuine interest in the education sector or publishing/events environments.
