Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) LTD is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join its expanding team in the United Kingdom. Primary responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance and optimizing microscopy systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established scientific instrumentation company designing and manufacturing cutting-edge technologies.
The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical and mechanical skills, is familiar with microscopy systems and can problem-solve with minimal guidance. Preferred qualifications include experience in fundamental optical theory and microscopy applications and familiarity with advanced imaging platforms including multiphoton, light-sheet, spinning disk confocal, widefield fluorescence and transmitted light (brightfield/DIC). This is a permanent position requiring both domestic and international travel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or technical degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills
- Familiarity with microscopy systems
- Experience with advanced imaging platforms including multiphoton, light-sheet, spinning disk confocal, widefield fluorescence and transmitted light (brightfield/DIC)
- Familiarity with biomedical sciences preferred

Responsibilities:
- Telephone and Online Support: Provide first response technical support to scientists at biomedical research laboratories. Field email and phone inquiries immediately upon receipt. Troubleshoot support issues involving software and opto-electronic hardware performance. Document support issues and manage the reconciliation process via a case tracking system.
- Customer Site Visits: Extensive travel to customer sites is required. Site visits involve the same type of support as email and phone inquiries, and may include software and hardware installation of microscopy platforms/systems, systemic troubleshooting, basic hardware repair, equipment relocation, annual system optimization and preventative maintenance.

- Legally eligible for employment in the United Kingdom
- Work safely with lasers, optical and electrical systems; understand and follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- Travel extensively throughout Europe and abroad
- Flexibility to work outside traditional work hours as required
- Reside in London or surrounding area
