About Us

Intelligent Drainage Solutions Ltd is a specialist drainage company dedicated to providing premium residential, commercial, and industrial services. From unblocking drains and high‑pressure jetting to septic tank emptying and advanced CCTV surveys, we pride ourselves on safety, reliability, and responsive customer service. Using modern equipment and state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic technology, we ensure our clients' infrastructure operates at peak efficiency.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and responsible CCTV Rig Manager to supervise a 2–3 person team in the field. In this role, you will lead day‑to‑day operations on site, utilizing state‑of‑the‑art CCTV equipment to analyze pipe conditions and generate premium‑quality technical reports. This is a highly responsible position combining team leadership, technical asset inspection, and strict adherence to health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision: Lead a 2/3 person field crew, allocate daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure a highly productive, safe working environment.
  • Surveys & Reporting: Execute high‑quality CCTV surveys, vehicle‑mounted WinCan coding, and STC25 manhole surveys. Produce accurate site sketches and perform strict final QA checks on all data.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all tasks are strictly undertaken in accordance with up‑to‑date Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS). Maintain vigilant awareness of public and traffic movements when working on live highways.
  • Fleet & Inventory Management: Conduct mandatory daily pre‑start vehicle and inventory checks. Ensure all safety, survey, and auxiliary equipment is present, clean, well‑maintained, and has a current calibration date.
  • Asset Safekeeping: Take responsibility for company property, including specialist vehicles, high‑value cameras, keys, and mobile devices.

Working Hours & Operational Flexibility

Our baseline operations are structured around a basic 45‑hour working week, Monday to Friday. However, to seamlessly meet our strict commercial contract requirements and manage seasonal works fluctuations, a high level of operational flexibility is required.

  • Shift Variation: You must be willing and able to work night shifts and weekends when project demands require it.
  • Travel: Occasional periods of working away from home will be necessary to support regional contract delivery.
  • Emergency Response: An active emergency call‑out rota is in operation. Joining and participating in this rota is a core condition of employment to ensure uninterrupted service to our clients.

What We Are Looking For

  • Drainage Experience: Proven background operating CCTV drainage survey rigs, high‑pressure water jetting equipment, or managing utility/drainage infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with WinCan coding software, STC25 manhole survey formatting, and producing legible, accurate field sketches.
  • Leadership Capability: Strong supervisory skills with a natural ability to guide field crews and handle client updates professionally.
  • Safety First Mindset: Deep awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations on site, particularly regarding highway and street works.
  • Practical Requirements: A full, valid UK driving licence suitable for operating company vehicles. A strong commitment to outdoor, physical work in varying weather conditions.

Note: While vocational training in utility engineering, construction, or underground asset mapping is highly advantageous, core drainage survey and crew supervision experience is our primary focus.

If you are a hands‑on professional ready to lead a dedicated field team and can commit to a flexible operational schedule, we want to hear from you. To apply please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your CCTV drainage survey experience to enquiries@drainsids.co.uk
