Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: GCSE English & Maths required. Relevant Degree / CIPS desirable.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in material planning and purchasing.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of Purchasing techniques and proven track record of cost savings and process improvement.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail. Good organisational skills. Use of MS Office Applications. Strong communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Procurement of components and finished goods in a timely, cost effective and correct manner.
  • Procurement of ‘non-production’ materials, equipment, machinery and consumables in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Sourcing new suppliers as desirable or necessary.
  • Design, implementation and maintenance of Vendor Management Programme.
  • Liaising with Production Manager to ensure efficient provision of materials and provide correct delivery times to customers and delivery information to Sales.
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
  • Maintain purchasing databases/ERP parameters to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Maintain a safe working environment which complies with all aspects of the company H&S policies.
  • Fully support companies SC21 activities and objectives.
  • Any other reasonable activity as requested by line manager.
