Our international client is currently searching for a Staff Etch Process Development Engineer to be responsible for developing, optimising, and supporting dry and wet etch processes for III-V semiconductor and photonic devices. Driving process improvements, new product introduction (NPI), yield enhancement, and manufacturing efficiency in a semiconductor fabrication environment will all be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and improve semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Optimise dry and wet etch processes for performance, repeatability, and yield
- Analyse process and equipment data using SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies
- Support NPI, technology transfer, and process scale-up into production
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to improve uptime and reduce defects
- Lead yield improvement, scrap reduction, cycle time, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with Product, Equipment, Manufacturing, and R&D teams
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing (photonics, III-V, MEMS, optoelectronics, silicon photonics desirable)
- Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis
- Experience with statistical data analysis, process optimisation, and manufacturing problem solving
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline
