Overview
In this hands-on engineering leadership role, you will guide a small team across mechanical production and test engineering while collaborating with Operations, Design Engineering, Product Management and manufacturing partners.
You own key improvement initiatives, from test methods and rigs to modernising legacy test-bed approaches.
You’ll diagnose production issues, drive efficiency, and support NPI and design transfer.
This position offers a blend of technical execution and strategic project leadership within an OEM/manufacturing context.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small engineering team
- Troubleshoot production issues, field failures and customer escalations
- Develop and improve production test methods, test rigs and equipment
- Lead a major project to modernise legacy test-bed methodology
- Improve test cycle times, production efficiency and diagnostic capability
- Support NPI, design transfer and production readiness
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners on root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Key requirements
- Strong Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or Test Engineering background
- Experience in an OEM, manufacturing or product-based environment
- Prior technical and/or team leadership experience
- Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with production testing, test equipment or test rigs
- Experience working with manufacturing partners or contract manufacturers
- Practical, proactive approach with ability to lead projects independently
