An innovative technology company is expanding its software engineering team in Cambridge, developing advanced RF and communications products for telecommunications, space and defence applications.
This is a hands-on role focused on Zephyr-based embedded development, with opportunities to work across bare-metal firmware, embedded Linux and secure communications. You’ll collaborate closely with RF, FPGA and hardware engineers, contributing to products throughout the full development lifecycle, from prototype development through to volume manufacture.
For this Senior Embedded Software Engineer role, we are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience developing low-level embedded software and firmware using Zephyr
- Excellent C/C++ programming skills, including optimisation for resource-constrained systems
- Experience with prototype board bring-up, hardware/software integration and debugging
- Experience with embedded communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I²C, UART and RS422
- Strong practical debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analysers and software tools
- Experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, bare-metal firmware or other RTOS platforms would be beneficial
- Knowledge of secure communications, authentication, encryption or secure firmware updates would be advantageous
