Join our client’s dynamic consultancy team in London as a Graduate Sustainability Consultant, where you\’ll help deliver grant‑funded retrofit projects and support clients building energy‑efficient homes—supplying solar panels, heat pumps, and more—to drive the capital toward net‑zero.

About

A forward‑thinking sustainability consultancy working at the intersection of policy, design, and delivery. Their focus is on:

  • Retrofit funding: Helping housing associations, local authorities, and community organisations access SHDF, LAD, ECO4, HUG, and other streams.
  • New‑build efficiency: Advising developers on fabric‑first design, solar PV systems, battery storage, and low‑carbon heating solutions.

They pride ourselves on turning ambitious decarbonisation targets into practical, scalable solutions.

The Role

As a Graduate Sustainability Consultant, you’ll:

  • Develop and deliver sustainable retrofit strategies alongside new‑build energy‑efficient homes.
  • Support bid writing for government and grant funding (e.g. SHDF, ECO4, HUG).
  • Conduct building assessments (PAS 2035, SAP/PHPP) and solar PV feasibility studies.
  • Liaise with suppliers and installers of solar panels, heat pumps, and smart‑meter systems.
  • Contribute to technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with evolving funding streams, policy, and green‑building standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grant applications: Prepare funding bids for retrofit and renewables projects.
  • Energy modelling: Perform SAP, PHPP, and dynamic simulation to optimise building performance.
  • Technical due diligence: Assess sites for solar, battery storage, and fabric‑first measures.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Translate complex technical data into clear, actionable advice.
  • Market research: Monitor grant rounds, incentives, and industry best practices.

About You

  • Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or related.
  • Strong interest in retrofit, renewables, and low‑carbon housing.
  • Familiarity with UK grant mechanisms and green‑building standards.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with SAP, PHPP, or RdSAP and PV‑sizing tools is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Up to ÂŁ40,000 salary plus competitive benefits
  • Mentoring & development: Structured training in both retrofit and renewables
  • Real‑world impact: Work on high‑profile projects from day one
  • Collaborative culture: Mission‑driven team with flexible and hybrid working
  • Additional perks: Health cover and professional membership support
