Are you an experienced Ecologist looking for a role that takes you out of the office and into the field? We’re recruiting for a dynamic, independent position. This is not your typical desk-based job — it’s a rare opportunity to become the sole ecological lead in an organisation making a tangible impact on the environment across a wide range of sites.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work closely with arborists, environmental teams, and drone survey specialists
- Analyse data and contribute to planning and compliance with biodiversity legislation
- Conduct ecological site surveys, habitat assessments, and protected species work
- Produce high-quality PEAs, EcIAs, BNG reports, and ecological management plans
- Act as Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) on infrastructure projects
The Role Includes:
- Company vehicle + fuel card
- All travel, overnight accommodation, and site expenses are fully covered
- Access to drone survey data to support your fieldwork
- Regular travel across the UK, with a base near the Southeast
- A mix of field, remote and occasional office work (hybrid-friendly)
About You:
- Degree in Ecology or related field
- CIEEM membership (minimum ACIEEM or working toward)
- Strong report writing and project delivery skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
- Experience with protected species and ecological consultancy is a bonus
