Start Date: ASAP
About the Opportunity:
We’re recruiting on behalf of a high-growth organisation building next-generation AI for regulatory intelligence . This is a hands-on Data Scientist role focused on developing and deploying intelligent document analysis and semantic search capabilities, combining classical NLP with modern transformer and LLM-based approaches.
You’ll have real ownership across the modelling lifecycle—helping shape strategy, building robust evaluation, and ensuring models perform reliably in production.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing, building, and maintaining NLP models for document parsing, entity recognition , and relationship extraction
- Creating hybrid NLP pipelines using rule-based methods alongside transformer-based approaches
- Developing and fine-tuning embeddings and similarity models to power semantic content discovery and related-document search
- Supporting the end-to-end MLOps lifecycle : model versioning, automated evaluation, monitoring, and continuous deployment
- Implementing evaluation frameworks covering accuracy, robustness, bias, and drift detection
- Building reproducible training workflows and supporting automated CI/CD for model development
- Collaborating with backend engineers to integrate models into production services with traceability and explainability
- Staying current with emerging research and testing new approaches to retrieval, summarisation, and semantic search
Qualifications
- 4+ years’ hands-on experience in data science or NLP engineering (Python-focused)
- Experience deploying and maintaining NLP/LLM models in production or production-like environments
- Practical knowledge of MLOps tooling and model evaluation practices
- Experience with vector databases / embedding stores (e.g. ChromaDB, FAISS, Mongo Atlas)
- Strong understanding of semantic similarity metrics and evaluation methods
- Cloud and deployment exposure (preferably Azure ) plus containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes )
- Good software engineering practices: version control, testing, reproducibility
- Graph-based methods or knowledge graphs
- Experience working with regulatory, legal, or financial text
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation tools , LangChain, or related evaluation frameworks
- Hybrid working with a flexible set-up and modern tooling
- A key role shaping a real-world applied AI product with tangible impact
- Collaborative, high-performing team blending AI expertise with deep domain knowledge
