I’m currently working with a London-based fintech / data business hiring a Data Engineer to join a high-impact team building modern data infrastructure and analytics products around complex, high-volume datasets. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys owning production pipelines properly end-to-end in production, rather than just building transformations in isolation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines in Python
  • Onboarding and integrating new data sources
  • Designing and optimising transformations using a modern columnar stack
  • Owning data quality, monitoring/alerting, reruns/backfills and operational robustness
  • Working closely with a small team in an environment where you can genuinely influence how things are built

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong Python and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with Polars, Parquet and/or Arrow/PyArrow
  • Experience owning pipelines in production end-to-end
  • A strong engineering mindset around reliability, observability and delivery
  • Ability to work independently and help drive things forward

Nice to have:

  • Time-series, high-volume or event-driven data experience
  • Orchestration exposure such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, Temporal or similar
  • Finance or market data experience

Details:

  • Permanent role
  • London / hybrid
  • Small, technically strong team
  • Salary flexible depending on fit and level

If this sounds like you, or you’d be open to hearing more, feel free to apply or message me directly.
