About the Role
Intellect Group is proud to be exclusively representing a high-growth, multi-sector organisation that has scaled from £0 to over £30 million in revenue – with ambitions to reach £100 million in the next five years. We are seeking a Graduate Data Scientist to join the business at a pivotal stage in its growth. This is a foundational hire, where you'll be the first data-focused employee and have a real opportunity to shape the company's data strategy from the ground up. Our client operates across a number of key industries, including contract catering, care homes, property management, and industrial services, with major contracts in the public and private sectors – including healthcare, education, and government.
The Opportunity:
This is a rare chance for a recent graduate to make a genuine impact. The organisation’s data is currently siloed across multiple business units, and senior leaders are looking to transform this into a centralised, accessible system that supports real-time decision-making, cost savings, and operational efficiency. You’ll work closely with executives across the group to identify opportunities for data-led improvements, build robust reporting solutions, and lay the foundations for a future data team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a data audit across various departments and business units
- Clean, integrate, and standardise datasets stored across different systems and platforms
- Build interactive dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Deliver insights that support strategic decisions across operations, finance, HR, and procurement
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Contribute to defining a long-term data strategy, including infrastructure and tooling recommendations
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A recent graduate in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL
- Exposure to data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- A genuine passion for data and solving real-world problems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain data insights to non-technical audiences
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
What’s on Offer:
- A rare opportunity to build a data function from scratch within a fast-growing organisation
- Direct exposure to C-suite executives and decision-makers
- Varied, impactful work across multiple industries and business functions
- Long-term career development and potential to progress into a leadership role
- Supportive, entrepreneurial environment with room to innovate
