We’re working with a fast-growing London-based fintech lender who are hiring an urgent Financial Controller to join their growing finance function. The business supports UK SMEs through innovative lending and cash-flow management products and has recently secured significant Series A funding. They are now entering a key scaling phase and are looking for a hands-on finance professional who can take ownership across reporting, controls, operations and process improvement.
This is a strong opportunity for a qualified accountant who wants broader responsibility in a fast-moving fintech environment, working closely with senior leadership and helping build the finance function as the business continues to scale.
Responsibilities- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial statements
- Support the annual audit process and work with external auditors
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
- Support cash-flow and working-capital oversight
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations
- Identify and implement improvements across finance processes, systems and reporting
- Work closely with non-finance stakeholders, providing clear and timely financial information
- ACCA qualified as a minimum, ACA also considered
- 3–5 years’ experience from Big 4, banking or fintech
- Strong financial reporting and management accounts experience
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards
- Experience across controls, audit support and finance operations
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Confident communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, hands-on and ownership-driven mindset
- Lending or fintech experience
- Financial modelling experience
- Startup or scale-up experience
Location: Holborn, London
Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
