Are you an experienced Ecologist looking for a role that takes you out of the office and into the field? We’re recruiting for a dynamic, independent position. This is not your typical desk-based job — it’s a rare opportunity to become the sole ecological lead in an organisation making a tangible impact on the environment across a wide range of sites.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work closely with arborists, environmental teams, and drone survey specialists
  • Analyse data and contribute to planning and compliance with biodiversity legislation
  • Conduct ecological site surveys, habitat assessments, and protected species work
  • Produce high-quality PEAs, EcIAs, BNG reports, and ecological management plans
  • Act as Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) on infrastructure projects

The Role Includes:

  • Company vehicle + fuel card
  • All travel, overnight accommodation, and site expenses are fully covered
  • Access to drone survey data to support your fieldwork
  • Regular travel across the UK, with a base near the Southeast
  • A mix of field, remote and occasional office work (hybrid-friendly)

About You:

  • Degree in Ecology or related field
  • CIEEM membership (minimum ACIEEM or working toward)
  • Strong report writing and project delivery skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
  • Experience with protected species and ecological consultancy is a bonus
