About the Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and motivated AI Engineer to join a fast-growing, forward-thinking team operating at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), and cloud-native applications. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with solid experience in AI development, software engineering, or machine learning systems to work on projects that deliver real business impact across the banking and finance sector. You’ll collaborate with an international team of AI engineers, data scientists, and software developers to design, build, and deploy scalable AI-driven products that automate data workflows, enhance analytics, and improve decision-making capabilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, developing, and deploying AI and LLM-based solutions in production environments
  • Building and maintaining retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and integrating LLM APIs (e.g. GPT, Claude, Gemini)
  • Developing and optimising APIs, embeddings, and backend services for AI systems
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Working within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to deploy and scale AI applications
  • Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and internal R&D projects
  • Collaborating with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, production-ready solutions
  • Contributing to the evolution of internal frameworks and best practices for AI deployment

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in AI engineering, data engineering, or software development
  • Demonstrable experience delivering AI, LLM, or data-driven applications
  • Strong programming skills in Python (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and/or TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate)
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern development workflows (Git, CI/CD)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset
  • Full right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or AI agents
  • Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and semantic search
  • Exposure to enterprise AI security, multimodal AI, or reinforcement learning (RLHF)

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Up to £70,000 + annual performance bonus
  • Hybrid Working: Flexible blend of office and remote work
  • Career Development: Continuous learning, technical mentorship, and clear progression opportunities
  • Modern Tech Stack: Work with state-of-the-art AI, LLM, and cloud technologies
  • Collaborative Culture: Join an innovative, global engineering and data science team
  • Additional Perks: Pension scheme, private healthcare, and wellbeing initiatives
