AI Researcher and Engineer

About the Role
Intellect Group is partnering with an innovative cybersecurity firm to recruit an AI Researcher and Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking organisation that’s redefining how technology and security intersect.
In this role, you’ll take the lead in researching, prototyping, and integrating AI and Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) technologies into both a quantitative cyber risk management platform and the company’s consulting services. You’ll combine hands-on engineering with strategic research—helping define how AI shapes the business over the next two years.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Strategy and Discovery: Identify opportunities where AI can enhance cybersecurity and customer experience.
- Prototyping and Development: Build functional prototypes for new AI-driven product features.
- Product Integration: Collaborate with development teams to bring successful prototypes into production.
- Consulting Enablement: Create AI tools that support and streamline the company’s consulting practice.
- Risk Intelligence Productisation: Conduct data science research to turn insights into scalable, standardised offerings.
- Core Data Science: Support ongoing product and service innovation through data-driven research.
About You
We’re looking for a versatile AI professional with a passion for research and real-world application. You should thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and be comfortable owning projects end-to-end.
Essential skills and experience:
- PhD or MEng in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field
- Proven background in AI and/or GPT/LLM technologies.
- Strong ability to turn complex problems into actionable, buildable AI prototypes.
Desirable:
- Experience with both commercial (e.g., OpenAI) and custom/private AI models.
- Track record of collaborating with engineering teams to transition prototypes into production.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity or cyber risk management (beneficial but not essential).
