We\’re seeking an exceptional Open Source Program Lead to define, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide controls for open-source software and AI governance within a highly regulated financial services environment.

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead an Open Source Program Office (OSPO) from the ground up—shaping strategy, governance frameworks, and compliance operations across the organisation.

You\’ll be at the intersection of open source innovation and regulatory excellence, navigating EU AI Act, DORA, and emerging AI governance requirements.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain the OSS Control Framework and Risk Model

Architect automated policy enforcement systems (Python, GitHub Actions)

Integrate SCA and SBOM tools across the software supply chain

Partner with Legal, Risk, and Engineering on OSS licensing (GPL, AGPL, Apache, MIT)

Champion InnerSource practices across engineering teams

Embed policy‐as‐code and AI fairness frameworks into CI/CD pipelines

Ensure compliance with EU AI Act, DORA, GDPR, NIST AI Framework

SME on AI vendor risk, ethical GenAI use, and contribution management

Qualifications

10+ years across AI/ML systems, risk management, and governance

5+ years focused on OSS governance or AI compliance

Strong knowledge of OSS licensing & IP law

Cloud/DevSecOps background (AWS, Azure, GitHub, Docker)

Exceptional stakeholder management across Legal, Compliance, Engineering, and Exec leadership

Financial services / regulated industry background

Build an OSPO from the ground up—rare greenfield opportunity

Hybrid working with London office presence

Represent the org at FINOS, OpenUK, and industry forums
